I never tire of looking at his work and I am continually inspired by it. I drew this from a photograph. His eyes are askew because he was always trying to catch a glimpse of something, anything.

Glossed Vigilance, 2015 79”x 64” Acrylic on canvas The composition of this painting is loosely based on Rembrandt’s Anatomy Lesson. The woman in it is imposing, approachable, but guarded. The viewer is warned to proceed with caution. Encased in silver, the woman’s heart is hidden, she is all mask. She has a lot to give and a lot to protect.
